GLASGOW VEGAN FESTIVAL!


HEY EVERYONE! Happy Friday and even more Happy Bank Holiday Weekend! I am so excited for the weekend as we have an amazing looking vegan festival happening in Glasgow … eek! That means donuts. Enough said. I actually have only recently heard about this festival from a friend online and I am so glad I found out in time as the festival is this current weekend MAY 27TH & 28TH in Trades Hall, Glassford Street, Glasgow. With over 50 fantastic stalls, 8 world food caterers, all day talks and all day cookery demos it is kind of a given that I will be going! I will there on Saturday 27th from 12pm with Marco so if you guys are planning on going please come up and say hello! Vegan donuts all round haha 🙂

Whether you are vegan already and are going along for some epic food or you are curious about veganism and want to learn more then make sure to check this festival out, tickets are just £3 on the door.

SATURDAY – NORTH GALLERY

12pm – Vinyasa Flow Yoga Open Class with Nimita Bhatt
Vinyasa yoga is about coordinating breath and movement. Nimita will guide you through a short practice that will get your body moving + feeling energised. Whether you’ve done yoga before or have never stepped onto the mat, come and have a wee stretch, then fill your belly with all the good festival food!

1pm – Cookery Demo – Risotto Primavera seasonal speciality of the restaurant Red Onion by chef owner John Quigley

2pm – Cookery Demo – Using Herbs and Spices to Make Food Tasty and Add Extra Nutrition for Vegans by Lilian Nassuna Muirhead

A simple introduction to using herbs in your own kitchen, for extra flavour and healing of the body through the nutrients that are in the herbs and spices. We will be using readily available ingredients such as sage, thyme, basil, bay leaf lemons…etc. in both sweet and savoury dishes. We will be making herbal teas and explain how they can help one’s health. We will make vegan herb butter for you delicious baked potatoes and some other dishes that go really well with loads of herbs and spices. If you would like to be a healthier vegan or would simply like to add flavour to your foo, then this demo is for you.
